The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service, is recruiting multiple seasonal contractual employees for the Fall 2026 to Spring 2027 season at Elk Neck State Park in Cecil County, Maryland. Applicants must indicate on the Supplemental Questionnaire which position or positions they are interested in. Vacancies are in the Maintenance Series (Maintenance Worker and Maintenance Worker Lead), Administrative/Customer Service Series (Contact Station/Concession Attendant), and Ranger Series (Park Ranger). The listed salary is $17.41 or more per hour. Employees may be assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle, UTV, or golf cart; employees assigned those duties must hold a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license and have five or fewer points on their current driving record. A provisional driver’s license will not be accepted where its restrictions could interfere with job requirements. Selected applicants may undergo employment reference, education, driving record, and criminal history checks, including fingerprinting, as applicable. Continued employment for positions requiring checks is contingent on the results. Contractual employees working for a covered agency with a current contract who work at least 30 hours a week or an average of 130 hours per month may be eligible for subsidized health benefits. Eligible employees pay 25% of medical and prescription premiums; Maryland subsidizes the remaining 75%. Dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance may also be elected at the employee’s full premium cost. Contractual employees may receive leave at one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per calendar year.
