About The Position
Unload grain and grain by-products from trucks. Opening gates and doors on trucks. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and facility. Must be able to distinguish different products and report any abnormities to supervisor. Be able to work a combination of 8, 10, & 12 hour shifts consisting of days, nights & weekends. Work is physically demanding, dirty and exposed to outside elements. Follow instructions of Superintendent, Assistant or Lead. Follow all LDC safety rules and procedures. Must have adequate knowledge of all SHE policies. Responsible for a clean work area, clean facility and general maintenance (housekeeping). Must wear all required PPE for the jobs being performed. Assist in all areas of the facility as needed.
Requirements
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the use of hand tools, power tools, chain falls, cable pullers (come-alongs), grinders, drill presses, etc.
- Must be able to work over water on grain barges in wet conditions, handling lines and opening/closing barge lids.
- Must have ability to work from ladders and scaffolds at heights at times with personal fall protection.
- Be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Must be able to work in dusty conditions.
- Must be able to work frequently in inclement weather including rain, ice, wind and the heat.
- Must be aware and attentive to surroundings which may include automatic starting conveyors belts, bucket elevators, drag chain and other moving machinery.
- Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, squat, and crawl occasionally and stand and walk for extended periods of time.
