Requirements

Ability and willingness to work cooperatively as a part of a team
Proven good work and attendance record
Ability to work in all types of outdoor weather and temperature
Physically capable of frequently lifting/moving of materials daily, including mulch, soil, and plants
Ability to work independently
Commitment to working within Homewood’s Health and Safety Standards
Demonstrated commitment to Homewood’s Core Competencies (Service Excellence, Innovation, Collaboration, Integrity)
Background Education in: Horticulture Studies, Landscape or Garden Maintenance, Master Gardener Studies

Responsibilities

General plant care: weeding, watering, pruning, planting, general maintenance of Horticultural Therapy gardens, interior courtyards, greenhouse and Labyrinth care.
Plant materials includes; annual flowers, perennial flowers, shrubs, vegetables, herbs.
Ensure gardens are accessible, safe, and conducive to patient engagement.
Interior garden courtyard maintenance – watering, weeding, pruning, planting, general maintenance of courtyard garden areas.
