About The Position

The Seasonal Book Shelver contributes to the regular and efficient circulation of books in the store by effectively stocking merchandise. The role helps lead and promote a customer-friendly store atmosphere by providing exceptional customer assistance. All duties are performed with a customer-service mindset and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

This is a part-time seasonal position of limited duration, from November 8, 2026, through January 9, 2027. The position is less than 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Customer service requires patience, kindness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with diverse communities and customer needs.
• Professional telephone skills.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, midshifts, and weekends.
• Diverse book knowledge.
• Understanding of Bookmans' pricing, trading, and discount systems.
• General knowledge of products sold at Bookmans.
• Knowledge of store sections and layout.
• Ability to work independently with guidance and direction from the Book Department Supervisor/Lead and Store Management.
• Ability to use reference materials.
• Ability to conduct oneself in a civil, professional, and respectful manner at work.

Responsibilities

• Stock merchandise to support the regular and efficient circulation of books.
• Provide exceptional customer assistance and help promote a customer-friendly store atmosphere.
• Perform all duties with a customer-service mindset and follow company policies and procedures.
• Stock shelves while maintaining alphabetization, organization, and displays.
