About The Position

As a Retail Associate, you serve as a Columbia Sportswear brand ambassador and help provide exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales skills to answer questions and recommend products while supporting the company’s values of customer service and teamwork. Associates help maintain product availability and visual displays, address customer inquiries, process transactions, and support store operations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience of two years or less in a position or specialization.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about and adjust or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by answering questions about product features, benefits, and availability.
• Engage customers to understand their needs and preferences, demonstrate and explain merchandise, and recommend suitable options.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty-program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Support store profitability by receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
