About The Position

As a Retail Associate, you serve as a brand ambassador and help ensure exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales skills to answer customer questions and make product recommendations while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company’s values of customer service and teamwork. Associates also support the Store Leadership team and the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions. This is a seasonal, part-time role at Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe, Ohio.

Requirements

• No specific education required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Two or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Ability to operate inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about in an active environment and frequently adjust or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by answering questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, and recommend suitable options to customers.
• Maintain visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to support store profitability.
