About The Position

As a Retail Associate and brand ambassador, you help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions while supporting the Store Leadership team and Columbia Sportswear Company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.” You use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer customer questions, recommend products, and support customer service and teamwork. The role also contributes to product availability, visual displays, store cleanliness and safety, and efficient checkout and inventory operations.

Requirements

• No specific education is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Two or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about in an active environment and adjust or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to questions or issues about product features, benefits, and availability.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, demonstrate and explain merchandise, and suggest suitable options.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty-program connections, efficiently and accurately.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing product flow accurately and efficiently to contribute to store profitability.
