About The Position

Guidepost Montessori is seeking warm, dependable Seasonal Assistant Guides to support Infant, Toddler, and Children’s House classrooms (ages 3–6) during school holiday breaks. The role helps create a calm, engaging environment where children can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace. Assistant Guides prepare and maintain intentional learning spaces and support individual and small-group activities with respect, patience, and care, helping children build confidence and discover their capabilities.

The position may suit college students home for winter break, experienced caregivers seeking flexible work, or people interested in learning about Montessori teaching. Seasonal team members who are a strong fit may be offered full-time positions. The job offers flexible scheduling options, including full-time, part-time, and on-call work.

Requirements

• Experience working with young children, from infants through age 6, in a school, childcare, camp, or nanny setting.
• A positive, flexible, and team-minded attitude.
• A love for working with young children.
• Availability during school holiday breaks.

Nice To Haves

• Curiosity about the Montessori approach.
• Montessori experience is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Help keep classrooms running smoothly and consistently during the busy holiday break season.
• Observe children closely to understand and support their individual needs.
• Help prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly classroom.
• Support individual and small-group learning activities.
• Build warm, respectful relationships with children and families.
• Work alongside Lead Guides and the rest of the team to maintain a strong classroom community.
