About The Position

The Sales Outfitter performs selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience through product demonstrations, merchandise replenishment and restocking, product knowledge, pricing and signage maintenance, and assistance with seasonal floor merchandise moves. Outfitters help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The position works under general supervision, using established procedures and occasional independent judgment. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift.
• Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps; repeat motions involving wrists, hands, or fingers; operate machinery or power tools; operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment; work in tight or confined spaces; and work in noisy environments.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects weighing 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and help ensure a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Demonstrate products to customers and provide information, assistance, and direction.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Identify and evaluate customer needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
