About The Position

Responsible for sewing/mending all aspects of player uniforms and coaching apparel for the football team. This includes general sewing and alterations, constructing jerseys from blanks, heat pressing, using and maintaining an embroidery machine, and repairing uniforms and select equipment. The role also involves constructing knee and thigh pads. The seamstress must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, perform accurate measurements, and execute precise sewing tasks such as hemming, mending, repairing, and reconstructing garments. They will also perform alterations to ensure proper garment fit, operate specialized sewing and embroidery equipment safely, and maintain a clean and organized sewing room. Effective communication with team management and other team members is essential, as is assisting other team members when needed.

Requirements

Expert in the field of sewing with excellent attention to detail
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
A team player
Minimum 3 years of professional level sewing and alterations experience
Must be able to communicate effectively
Computer proficiency in MS word, Excel, and YouTube (for videos related to sewing tasks)
High school Diploma or equivalent preferred

Proper repair of uniforms
Construction of knee and thigh pads
Repair of select equipment
Perform accurate measurements
Sew specialty items including hemming, mending, repairing, and reconstruction of garments
Perform alterations as needed to ensure proper fit of garment
Operate specialized sewing & embroidery equipment in a safe manner
Perform accurate and detailed work in a timely manner in accordance with department standards
Keep sewing room clean and organized
Help other team members as needed
Communicate effectively with team management and other team members
