About The Position

The Seafood Specialist is the store’s point person for seafood department excellence, ensuring product freshness, merchandising accuracy, and compliance with food safety standards. The role supports an exceptional guest experience while maintaining operational integrity, and is responsible for seafood inventory accuracy, rotation standards, presentation, guest engagement, and department readiness for promotions and seasonal events.

The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays. Work involves prolonged standing or walking, repetitive movements, lifting and moving items, exposure to extreme temperatures, and wearing required protective clothing and equipment.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements; grasp, bend, and reach; and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, including up to 4 hours without a break or as required by law.
• Ability to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
• Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure seafood products meet freshness and quality standards, including proper rotation and dating.
• Execute planograms and maintain accurate product placement and signage.
• Coordinate with department leadership on seafood ordering and replenishment.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness, and ensure proper receiving and storage procedures.
• Support compliance during key item transitions and promotional events.
• Support front-end operations during peak business times as a cashier or in other areas.
• Engage guests with a friendly and helpful approach on the sales floor.
