Requirements

  • Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in fish cutting, meat cutting, or food preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
  • Familiarity with various types of fish, meats, and their specific handling requirements.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using kitchen equipment related to meat processing.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in food production.
  • Ability to frequently stand and walk for an eight-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic math skills are essential.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Remove scales from fish, trim, fillet, and clean seafood products.
  • Perform fish cutting and trimming tasks with precision using appropriate knives and tools.
  • Weigh, wrap, and pack fish products to meet orders and inventory standards.
  • Ensure all fish products are prepared according to federal, state, local regulations and company policy.
  • Package fish products and ensure proper labeling and storage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the preparation area, adhering to hygiene protocols.
  • Collaborate with staff to meet production needs and maintain inventory levels.
  • Monitor the quality of fish products, identifying any issues that require attention.
  • Assist in training new staff members on proper meat cutting techniques and safety protocols.
