Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in fish cutting, meat cutting, or food preparation.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Familiarity with various types of fish, meats, and their specific handling requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using kitchen equipment related to meat processing.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in food production.
- Ability to frequently stand and walk for an eight-hour shift.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Basic math skills are essential.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Remove scales from fish, trim, fillet, and clean seafood products.
- Perform fish cutting and trimming tasks with precision using appropriate knives and tools.
- Weigh, wrap, and pack fish products to meet orders and inventory standards.
- Ensure all fish products are prepared according to according to federal, state, local regulations and company policy.
- Package fish products and ensure proper labeling and storage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the preparation area, adhering to hygiene protocols.
- Collaborate with staff to meet production needs and maintain inventory levels.
- Monitor the quality of fish products, identifying any issues that require attention.
- Assist in training new staff members on proper meat cutting techniques and safety protocols.
