About The Position

As a Scribe, you will work with providers to document information in the Electronic Health Record, gather important medical information from patients, perform preliminary tests, and gather measurements while providing high-quality care and an exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
General knowledge of clinical and surgical procedure requirements.
Strong computer skills.
Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible schedule working Monday through Friday.

Nice To Haves

COA or COT certification preferred.
Ophthalmology experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Code and document provider-dictated information in patients’ electronic medical records (EHR).
Review patient visit details and preliminary work-up completed by the Ophthalmic Technician for completeness and accuracy before the provider exam.
Fill patient rooms as needed.
Review provider schedules to confirm patients are scheduled correctly.
Help ensure patient visits flow smoothly and are completed within the appropriate amount of time.
Generate medication prescriptions as directed by the provider through Erx.
Educate patients on ophthalmic conditions and obtain consent for procedures and surgery.
Perform pretests as needed, including Goldmann Tonometry, extra-ocular muscle evaluation, confrontational visual fields, refractions, and lensometry.
Communicate clinic-flow concerns to the facilitator and management.
