The Screw Cell Lead (1st Shift) will actively lead a production team in product and process improvement. This role involves preparing daily production reports, ensuring parts are produced to meet drawing and specification requirements, and setting up and operating equipment. The lead will perform statistical process control measurements and calculations, complete required forms or computer entries, and order/maintain inventory levels of necessary tooling, gages, and supplies. They will participate in ensuring team tooling and material readiness, which may include assembling tooling set-up kits, staging raw materials, and performing external setup tasks. The position also involves participating in setting and achieving team and individual productivity and quality targets, facilitating continuous improvement activities, and performing machine inspections including preventative maintenance. Shop floor housekeeping duties are also part of the role. The Screw Cell Lead will train technicians (operators) in equipment operation and fastener manufacturing/testing methods, and help ensure departmental quality standards are met. This role includes running daily standup meetings, participating in operations daily meetings, and adhering to Howmet EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements, and other Company Policies. The lead will perform necessary quality checks and SPC data collection, help facilitate compliance with company safety and housekeeping policies, and participate in hiring decisions for operators. Other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliers may be assigned.
