About The Position

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Screw Cell Lead for the 1st Shift. This role involves actively leading a production team in product and process improvement, preparing daily production reports, and ensuring the production of parts that meet drawing and specification requirements. The position also includes setting up and operating equipment, performing statistical process control measurements, ordering and maintaining inventory of tooling and supplies, and participating in team readiness for tooling and materials. The Screw Cell Lead will also participate in setting and achieving productivity and quality targets, facilitate continuous improvement activities, perform machine inspections and preventative maintenance, and maintain shop floor housekeeping. Training technicians on equipment operation and manufacturing methods is a key responsibility, as is ensuring adherence to departmental quality standards. The role also involves running daily standup meetings, participating in operations meetings, and adhering to all company policies including EH&S, Quality, and Continuous Improvements. Other duties include performing quality checks, SPC data collection, facilitating compliance with safety and housekeeping policies, participating in hiring decisions for operators, and performing other manufacturing support tasks as needed.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong functional knowledge and expertise on machining, as well as excellent teaching and presentation skills. It is important that they are capable of effectively communicating complex technical information.
Must have excellent leadership skills, organizational skills, and a positive personality with strong awareness to diversity in the workplace.
Knowledge of company and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Must possess skills to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely and be able to coordinate effectively with management, other supervisors, employees, and the public.
Ability to instruct employees in a positive manner, motivating employees to achieve established goals while working as a team.
Skill in the use of machinery and equipment
Must be capable of assuming increasing responsibilities and also be flexible with work schedule and be available for working overtime.

Responsibilities

Actively lead production team in product and process improvement
Prepares daily production reports
Production of parts meeting drawing and specification requirements.
Set-up and operation of equipment, as assigned.
Perform statistical process control measurements and calculations. Complete forms or computer entries as required.
Order and maintain inventory levels of required tooling, gages and supplies.
Participate in assuring team tooling and material readiness. (Assemble tooling set-up kits, stage raw materials and perform external setup tasks, as required)
Participate in setting and achieving team and individual productivity and quality targets
Help facilitate continuous improvement activities.
Perform machine inspections including daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
Perform shop floor housekeeping duties.
Train technicians (operators) in the operation of plant equipment and fastener manufacturing and testing methods.
Helps to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.
Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.
Runs daily standup meetings
Participates in operations daily meetings when needed
Adheres to Howmet EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.
Perform necessary quality checks and SPC data collection for products produced.
Help facilitate compliance with company safety, housekeeping, and other company policies
Participates in the hiring decisions regarding operators
Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers.
