About The Position

The Cell Lead is responsible for supporting the team by serving as the first point of contact for assigned work, coordinating the daily activities of the fabrication cell. This role involves training and mentoring team members to ensure skill development and role proficiency, removing obstacles, solving problems, and empowering cell members to perform their best. The Cell Lead prioritizes and completes production tasks on time, maintaining a “can’t believe they pulled that off” mindset for expedited and high-impact projects. Additionally, the role upholds quality standards, performs routine maintenance, and identifies best practices to improve cell performance, increase productivity, and reduce costs. The Cell Lead also performs fabrication duties as a working lead, operating fabrication equipment proficiently, addressing equipment issues to minimize downtime, and ensuring efficient parts flow with minimal work-in-progress inventory. Fostering open communication, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration while upholding Aagard's values is also a key aspect of this position. Overtime may be required based on business and customer needs.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Machine Tool Technology plus 1 year of fabrication experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Proven career growth in fabrication roles with expertise in setting up and operating fabrication equipment
Ability to view and understand CAD drawings and use of Aagard software
Experience with Microsoft products including proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong prioritization, time management, organization, proactive decision-making, and attention to detail
Confidence and ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers verbally and in writing
Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb

Ensure and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment that supports team members’ well-being and operational excellence.
Uphold quality standards by ensuring parts and processes meet documented requirements and by performing routine maintenance and housekeeping.
Continuously identify and implement best practices to improve cell performance, increase productivity, reduce costs, and help our customers win.
Attend company training to develop leadership skills and expertise further.
Operate fabrication equipment proficiently to meet production needs and address equipment issues to minimize downtime.
Assist team members with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to parts, tooling, and processes.
Address and resolve equipment-related issues to minimize downtime.
Ensure parts are labeled, organized, and flow efficiently with minimal work-in-progress (WIP) inventory.
Foster open communication, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration while upholding Aagard's values of Winning, Together, Honorably, Passionately, and Positively.
Recommend and implement best practices to prioritize safety, improve productivity, reduce costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain professional interactions with customers and vendors, representing Aagard accurately and positively.
