About The Position

The Screen Printing Production Assistant supports daily production operations in Slingshot’s apparel decorating division. The role assists the Screen Printer with equipment setup, press operation, and post-production cleanup to help ensure jobs are produced efficiently and to high quality standards. The assistant works collaboratively with the team to maintain smooth workflows and support timely delivery of products to campus stores. This is a full-time, hourly, on-site position at Slingshot Inkhouse in Gas City, Indiana. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The role is in a shop and production setting, with exposure to inks, chemicals, solvents, and machinery; appropriate protective gear is provided. The position requires standing for long periods and regularly lifting up to 40 pounds. The stated pay is $16.50 per hour.

Requirements

Technical knowledge of screen-printing processes, including registration, mesh counts, and ink application.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and regularly lift up to 40 pounds.
Reliability, punctuality, flexibility, and ability to work collaboratively with a production team.

Nice To Haves

Experience in screen printing or a related print production role.

Responsibilities

Mix custom Pantone inks as needed.
Pull, count, and organize blank garments for printing.
Assist with setup and teardown of automatic and manual screen-printing presses, including loading and unloading garments and cleaning screens.
Follow daily production schedules to meet customer deadlines and report progress to the Shift Lead.
Perform routine cleaning of equipment and production areas.
Inspect garments as they exit the dryer for print consistency and defects.
Troubleshoot and correct print issues during production runs to minimize waste and downtime.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production workspace.
Handle inks, chemicals, and solvents safely and follow shop safety protocols.
Support efficient workflow and assist with other production tasks as needed.
