About The Position

The Scrap Handler picks up product off the floor and discards it into the properly color-coded barrels or scrap modules, ensures that reusable product is placed in the proper barrels for regrind, keeps the department neat and clean, reports any issues to the supervisor or lead and fills out various log sheets.

Requirements

• Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Flex/grip with wrists/hands
• Walk, bend, stand, and repetitive lifting from floor level
• Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
• Able to move heavy objects with a mechanical device

Responsibilities

• Picking up scrap/trash and discarding it into the properly color-coded barrel or scrap modules
• Ensuring that only product that is contaminated, burnt, or unfit for regrind is going into the proper color-coded scrap barrels
• Ensuring that reusable product from the line is placed in the white barrels for regrind reprocessing
• Keeping scrap barrels clean and in good shape. Damaged scrap barrels are to be discarded
• Pushing scrap module back to shipping once it is full, weighing the scrap and dumping it properly and recording weights
• Keeping the floors clean (sweeping) and free of debris
• Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
• Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
• Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
• Use and read scales
• Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.) with use of calculator
