About The Position

The Sanitation Skilled Laborer is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the plant in accordance with the Master Cleaning Schedule. This role involves disassembling and reassembling equipment and machinery prior to cleaning, using hazardous chemicals daily, operating a high-pressure sprayer to clean equipment, performing dry pick-up of inedible material, and completing any additional tasks necessary for the sanitation process.

Requirements

  • Completed Lockout/Tagout and Chemical Training within the first week.
  • Complete scissor lift training within the first two weeks.
  • Must have 3 months manufacturing work experience listed in the work history or skills section.
  • Must have 6 months' work history within the last 12 months to be considered.
  • Must be able to perform the Sanitation Laborer Training Checklist job tasks within the expected training period.
  • Must be able to follow direction and stay on task with little supervision.
  • Must be able to safely operate scissor lift, hand jack, and other industrial equipment.
  • Must be able to read and understand the Sanitation SOP’s, manuals, and related documentation as written.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 35-50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to tolerate heights up to 70 ft off the ground.
  • Must be able to move heavy objects (100 lbs.) with a mechanical device.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be able to work variable shifts of up to twelve (12) hour days including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of production areas utilizing various tools and chemicals.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment/machinery to ensure areas are sanitized.
  • Follow all safety/quality processes and department operation standards.
  • Operate high-pressure hose, air wand, and various chemicals to clean and sanitize production equipment per required specifications.
  • Perform checks on equipment to ensure all areas are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Communicate any issues/concerns to direct lead, supervisor, and/or manager in a timely manner.
  • Promptly respond and professionally communicate to supervisors and colleagues requests for sanitation services.
  • Complete paperwork/documentation as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness/organization of sanitation areas, lockers, chemical rooms, etc.
  • Notify Supervisor and/or QA of contamination concerns.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Monitor and report any wear and tear on equipment in a timely manner.
  • Follow company policies/procedures written or verbal.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned.
