About The Position

The Scoreboard Operator operates the scoreboard during athletic events, recording team points and maintaining game time according to officials’ signals. The position also involves tracking game-related information and statistics and helping ensure spectators can follow the progress of the game. The role is a temporary employment position with an hourly wage of $16.00 and reports to the Activity Directors.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Knowledge and understanding of technology.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work well with others in high-pressure environments.
Ability to troubleshoot technology issues.

Responsibilities

Watch players and officials at athletic events and use scoreboard indicators to record game progress for spectators.
Run the scoreboard.
Accurately record scores and all required statistics.
Maintain accurate rosters, timeouts, penalties, and other game information.
Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
Demonstrate initiative and work without close supervision.
Maintain integrity and confidentiality.
Interact respectfully and appropriately with staff, students, and visitors.
Follow district safety rules and policies and support district goals, objectives, and policies.
Attend work regularly and routinely.
Perform duties safely to avoid injury to oneself or others.
Respond to emergencies to address immediate safety concerns or direct appropriate personnel.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
