About the position
We are seeking a Scientist to join our Genome Engineering Technology Center at Arc Institute. This role will involve supporting the development of cutting-edge functional genomics approaches focused on the high-throughput interrogation of mammalian genomes, transcriptomes, and epigenomes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology development and a proven track record in developing high-throughput CRISPR screens. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated scientist interested in the intersection of basic research and biotech product development.
Responsibilities
- Design and run pooled functional genomics screens to prototype new technology and generate key data sets for technology development
- Work closely with core academic labs on collaborative projects
- Support the development of cutting-edge functional genomics approaches focused on the high-throughput interrogation of mammalian genomes, transcriptomes, and epigenomes with rich multi-omic readouts
- Collaborate with scientists from other teams, labs, and scientific domains
- Develop high-throughput CRISPR screens in mammalian cell culture or animal models
- Create technology and platforms that are scalable and useful in many different scientific application areas
- Optimize processes to ensure efficiency and speed in scientific research
- Contribute to the understanding and treatment of complex genetic diseases through technology development
- Conduct curiosity-driven basic science and technology development to understand and treat complex human diseases
- Provide first-class support operationally, financially, and scientifically to enable scientists to pursue long-term high-risk, high-reward research

Requirements
- Experience in developing high-throughput CRISPR screens in mammalian cell culture or animal models
- Passion for technology development in the field of functional genomics
- Proven track record in developing cutting-edge functional genomics approaches
- Expertise in the high-throughput interrogation of mammalian genomes, transcriptomes, and epigenomes
- Ability to work collaboratively with scientists from different teams, labs, and scientific domains
- Strong skills in designing and running pooled functional genomics screens
- Proficiency in creating scalable and useful technology and platforms for various scientific application areas
- Strong optimization skills to ensure efficiency and accuracy in research processes

- Base salary range of $112,500 to $148,500
- Eligibility for annual discretionary bonus
