About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Scientist is hiring a full-time Scientist for the Sylvester Myeloma Institute in Miami, Florida. This is a 100% research-based position with no clinical responsibilities or patient care. The role focuses on precursor screening studies, hematologic malignancies, multiple myeloma, and myeloma precursor disease. The Sylvester Myeloma Institute is developing iStopMM–Miami: From Population Screening to Precision Interception, a collaborative program building on the iStopMM population-screening study in Iceland. The program will investigate biological patterns associated with stable precursor disease versus progression to multiple myeloma, integrating longitudinal clinical data and biospecimens with molecular, immune, imaging, and computational analyses. It will also include interventional studies to translate risk prediction into individualized prevention and early-treatment strategies. The successful candidate will help design and launch the screening and follow-up program, develop collaborative translational studies, and connect biological discoveries with precision-interception trials. The position is a one-year appointment, 100% gift-funded, and reports to Dr. C. Ola Landgren, Chief of the Sylvester Myeloma Institute and Lead Principal Investigator for the planned iStopMM–Miami study. The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.
