About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC is hiring a full-time Scientist at UHealth in Miami, Florida. The role supports the University’s research goals through complex experiments and investigations, contributes to the scientific community, and promotes the University’s reputation in the field. This is a 100% research-based physician-scientist position with no clinical responsibilities or patient care. The scientist will support iStopMM–Miami: From Population Screening to Precision Interception, a collaborative program at the Sylvester Myeloma Institute building on Iceland’s iStopMM population-screening study. The program will investigate biological patterns that distinguish stable myeloma precursor disease from progression to multiple myeloma. It will integrate longitudinal clinical data and biospecimens with molecular, immune, imaging, and computational analyses, and include interventional research to inform individualized prevention and early-treatment strategies. The successful candidate will help design and launch the screening and follow-up program, develop collaborative translational studies, and connect biological discoveries with precision-interception trials. The position is a one-year appointment, 100% gift-funded, and reports to Dr. C. Ola Landgren, Chief of the Sylvester Myeloma Institute and Lead Principal Investigator for the planned iStopMM–Miami study.
