The Scientist, SOM supports the University’s research goals and objectives by engaging in complex experiments and investigations in a range of areas, depending on specialty and interests. Moreover, an employee in this position contributes to the scientific community and promotes the University’s reputation as a leader in the field. The Scientist, SOM (A) carries out an independent and collaborative research agenda focused on translational research across all Site Disease Groups. The position supports the collection, analysis, annotation, and characterization of biospecimens, including those obtained through operating room-based workflows, and works closely with clinical pathologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary research teams. The role contributes to scientific discovery through publications, grant-supported research, biospecimen-based studies, and the development of innovative approaches that advance the University’s research mission and leadership in precision medicine.
