About The Position

The Research Scientist will participate in the development and implementation of a nationally competitive program on tumor cell biology within the Conditional Reprogramming Laboratory in the Department of Pathology and OSU CCC. This role involves writing and submitting grant proposals for original research in tumor cell biology and oncogenic viruses as a co-investigator or collaborator to secure funding, with significant salary support from extramural sponsors. The scientist will develop and test hypotheses, plan, design, and execute advanced research experiments, and conduct statistical analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of raw data. Responsibilities also include planning and writing manuscripts, articles, abstracts, and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals, developing and implementing new research techniques and methodologies, and writing IRB and ILACUC protocols as needed. The position requires ensuring compliance with federal and institutional laboratory and radiation safety regulations, supervising and training junior research staff, postdoctoral researchers, residents, and undergraduate & graduate students, and developing new and ongoing collaborative research opportunities.

Requirements

  • PhD, MD, or equivalent
  • At least five years of postdoctoral training.
  • Potential to become a team leader.
  • Ability to lead and conduct independent research projects.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of externally funded research proposals as a co-PI or co-Investigator.

Responsibilities
