About The Position

KIPP NYC is looking for teachers who combine the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make a college preparatory education relevant both now and for the future. As an Elementary School Science Teacher you can expect to: Become a content-area specialist Teach fewer subjects and deepen expertise Use a strong curriculum rather than designing everything from scratch Facilitate hands-on investigations Develop expertise in student discourse and inquiry Build specialized STEM instructional skills - NGSS Prepare students for later success in science, including the Grade 5 NYS Science assessment Receive science-specific professional development and instructional support.

Requirements

  • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area
  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of students within our KIPP NYC communities

Nice To Haves
