About The Position

KIPP NYC is looking for teachers who combine the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make a college preparatory education relevant both now and for the future. As an Elementary School Science Teacher you can expect to become a content-area specialist, teach fewer subjects and deepen expertise, use a strong curriculum rather than designing everything from scratch, facilitate hands-on investigations, develop expertise in student discourse and inquiry, build specialized STEM instructional skills - NGSS, prepare students for later success in science, including the Grade 5 NYS Science assessment, and receive science-specific professional development and instructional support.

  • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area
  • Bachelor’s degree required
