About The Position

The Childcare Lead Teacher plans lessons and instructs children using the approved curriculum to support their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development. The teacher establishes and maintains a safe, healthy, welcoming, and positive learning environment; organizes classroom activities and follows a daily schedule; and supports other classroom staff. The role also involves following state and Discovery Point policies and regulations, maintaining classroom safety and cleanliness, participating in center functions, and communicating professionally with families, staff, and management. Requirements

Meet state licensing requirements for education and experience.
Knowledge of early childhood education and curriculum.
Knowledge of child care licensing rules and regulations.
Ability to obtain training in CPR, fire safety, and other required training.
CDA or degree in early childhood education.
Meet all state requirements for a lead teacher.

Provide direction to other staff in the classroom.

Maintain classroom safety and cleanliness at all times.
Plan lessons and instruct children in activities according to the approved curriculum.
Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
Promote and participate in center functions.
Communicate with and develop positive relationships with family members.
