School Social Worker - Transition Program
About The Position
AnthroMed Education is looking for a dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in Howell, MI. This is a full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year. As a School Social Worker with AnthroMed, you’ll join a dynamic, collaborative team that values student success, personal growth, and professional development. The role focuses on supporting students aged 18-26 in transitioning into the workforce and community independently, with a greater emphasis on functional and independent living goals rather than academic ones. The position is located across two buildings, and the social worker will have a private, dedicated office space in each building.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Michigan School Social Work Certification (Required)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with school-aged children is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect social work services to students in need of emotional, behavioral, and social support.
- Support and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team including teachers, SLPs, OTs, and job coaches.
- Facilitate small group and individual sessions.
- Lead and support the implementation of BIPS and FBAs.
- Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings to advocate for student needs and focus on transitioning after special education services.
- Support students and families in accessing community resources.
