School Social Worker
About The Position
TheraPeds Partners is a therapist-owned and operated organization that partners with schools to provide School Social Worker (SW) services to PreK–12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality School Social Worker (SW) services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment. This is a full-time, on site role as a School Social Worker serving a school located in San Mateo, CA. The School Social Worker (SW) will be responsible for providing therapy services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents), supporting students according to their IEP. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Current LCSW licensure required
- Completion of 900 hours of supervised practicum/fieldwork in social work settings
- Knowledge of IEPs, special education law, and behavior intervention planning
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in use of technology
- Fingerprint background clearance
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children or school-aged students
- 2+ years of experience
- Spanish-English bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Provide therapy services to students
- Conduct assessments
- Develop IEP plans
- Evaluate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents)
- Support students according to their IEP
- Conduct student assessments, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, consultation with school teams, and support multidisciplinary planning
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, families, and community providers to promote student well-being and academic success
