About The Position

This is a grant-funded position anticipated to continue through the 2028–2029 school year, contingent upon ongoing funding. The role involves providing Universal and Cohort Law Related Education, school safety assessments, risky behavior intervention, and prevention for students at Kingman High School.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers to develop LRE lessons and delivery
  • Ability to appropriately fulfill a school safety assessment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Fundamental knowledge of law enforcement and public safety
  • Ability to work with staff, students, and families to promote a positive image of law enforcement
  • Must either be an active or retired law enforcement officer that is in good standing with the Mohave County Sherriff’s Office.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Two to three years’ experience in related field.
  • Canidate must be active law enforcement or eligible for recertification

Responsibilities

  • Responding to all internal and external customers, as it relates to position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner
  • Provide a minimum of 20 hours of Cohort Law Related Education to Priority Focus Areas per campus, per year.
  • Provide a minimum of 30 hours of Universal Law Related Education to all students per campus, per year.
  • Provide staff training for Law Related Education twice per year, per campus.
  • Provide community training through family engagement events once per year, per campus.
  • Participate in School Safety and Prevention Team meetings to review needs assessment data and the operational plan once per quarter, per campus.
  • Keep a Weekly Activity Log that tracks LRE instruction times, teachers, subjects, time spent planning lesson, and any time spent off campus.
  • Encourage students to respect rules, laws, and persons in authority by providing a balanced view of civic roles.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
  • Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules
  • Performs related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner
