School Resource Officer
About The Position
The School Resource Officer will maintain a visible and positive presence throughout the school campus, supporting various school activities and ensuring a safe environment. This role involves building positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders, while also supporting the implementation of school safety protocols and emergency response procedures. The officer will respond professionally to emergencies, assist in de-escalating student conflicts using restorative practices, and collaborate with school leadership on student behavior and campus safety. Key duties include maintaining accurate incident reports, serving as a liaison between the school and law enforcement, conducting safety checks, and promoting positive student development.

Nice To Haves
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in law enforcement, school safety, security, or youth services preferred
- Experience working with children or educational settings strongly preferred
- Valid law enforcement certification or security credentials preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible and positive presence throughout the school campus
- Support arrival, dismissal, transitions, lunch, assemblies, and school events
- Build positive relationships with scholars, staff, families, and community stakeholders
- Support implementation of school safety protocols and emergency response procedures
- Respond professionally to emergencies and safety concerns on campus
- Assist with de-escalating student conflicts using restorative practices
- Collaborate closely with school leadership regarding student behavior and campus safety
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation
- Serve as liaison between the school and local law enforcement agencies when necessary
- Conduct routine campus safety checks and visitor monitoring
- Support supervision during extracurricular activities and family events
- Promote accountability, citizenship, leadership, and positive decision-making among scholars
- Assist with enforcing school policies and procedures consistently and respectfully
- Perform additional duties assigned by school leadership
