This position is responsible for performing the duties of a School Resource Officer for Auburn City Schools and the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws. This position reports to the Sergeant-Community Services. The work is light to very heavy work, which requires exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work is typically performed while intermittently walking, sitting, standing, crouching, bending, or stooping. The employee uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell. The work is typically performed in an office, various school environments and outdoor venues. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold or inclement weather. The work requires the use of specialized law-enforcement equipment and protective environments equipment.
