About The Position

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a full-time School Psychologist to support children and communities. The role involves providing counseling and supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs in collaboration with families, school staff, and interdisciplinary teams. The School Psychologist also contributes to IEP development, maintains required documentation and schedules, and follows applicable procedures and timelines. PDS provides public school districts, charter schools, and communities with pediatric therapists, including school psychologists. The organization partners therapists with schools and clinics to support children’s care and development.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Psychology.
Has obtained or is eligible for a School Psychologist endorsement as prescribed by the State Department of Education.
Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
Interpersonal skills and effective, courteous verbal and written communication.
Ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system.

Nice To Haves

Experience or specialized training in pediatric mental health.

Responsibilities

Provide counseling services to students and their parents.
Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, including interdisciplinary meetings to evaluate and discuss student diagnosis and treatment.
Participate in initial and annual IEP development as appropriate.
Collaborate with and coach families and staff during weekly team meetings and follow-up meetings to support social and emotional development.
Follow federal, state, and local procedures for record keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines, and procedural safeguards.
Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with required meetings and services.
