About The Position

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a School Psychologist to support its mission of positively impacting children and communities. The role provides counseling and supports students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs in school settings. The psychologist works with students, parents, families, school staff, interdisciplinary teams, and external agency representatives, and supports individualized education program (IEP) development and compliance with applicable procedures.

Requirements

Master's degree in Psychology.
Has obtained or is eligible for a School Psychologist endorsement as prescribed in the bylaws of the State Department of Education.
Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and courteously, verbally and in writing.
Ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system.

Nice To Haves

Experience or specialized training in pediatric mental health.

Responsibilities

Provide counseling services to students and their parents.
Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, including interdisciplinary meetings to evaluate and discuss student diagnosis and treatment.
Participate in initial and annual IEP development as appropriate.
Collaborate with and coach families and staff to support social and emotional development during weekly team meetings and follow-up meetings.
Follow federal, state, and local procedures for record keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines, and procedural safeguards.
Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with required meetings and services.
