About The Position

The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy is seeking a School Professor, Non-Tenure Track, for the Department of Practice, Sciences and Health Outcomes Research. This full-time, 12-month position is based at the Baltimore campus and involves teaching, service to the school, campus, and profession, and scholarly activity. Key responsibilities include Institutional and Curricular Assessment, managing the Pharmacy Law PharmD course, overseeing review sessions, and ensuring compliance with MPJE licensing requirements. The position offers opportunities for interprofessional collaboration with other schools on the University of Maryland, Baltimore campus.

Requirements

• An earned J.D. Juris Doctor or equivalent degree with a strong focus on institutional assessment and pharmacy law.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Professional conduct in all dealings with students, faculty, or administration.
• Knowledge of communication and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform via written, oral, and visual media.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design principles, evidence-based teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and knowledge of measurement and assessment.
• Willing and able to take on responsibilities and challenges.
• Willing and able to lead; take charge and offer opinions and direction.
• Ability to select and use instructional methods and procedures appropriate in the discipline family when learning or teaching new things.
• Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty.
• Ability to monitor and assess curricula to make improvements or take corrective action.
• Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Lead institutional assessment and academic effectiveness, managing campus-wide assessment processes.
• Analyze faculty workload and productivity.
• Conduct major institutional surveys.
• Map and evaluate PharmD curricular outcomes.
• Interpret student performance data to guide program improvement.
• Conduct original research for evidence-based decision making, policy development, and scholarly analysis.
• Engage in scholarly activity, including publication and presentation of work.
• Secure funding for research projects.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
• Participate in appropriate faculty activities (e.g., faculty assembly, department meetings, faculty committees), professional organizations, and other endeavors.
• Serve as course manager for the Pharmacy Law PharmD course.
• Oversee review sessions and MPJE licensing requirements.
