About The Position

GLOW Academy is seeking a passionate and customer-service-oriented School Office Receptionist to join their team. This part-time, 12-month position is crucial to supporting student achievement and fostering a positive school environment. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with strong critical thinking skills, a commitment to supporting student success, and a belief in the mission of GLOW Academy, which focuses on "whole girl" education, leadership development, early college and career awareness, health and wellness, and STEM and arts opportunities. GLOW Academy is dedicated to recruiting and retaining high-caliber staff who are passionate about learning, collaboration, and single-gender education, with the ultimate goal of closing the achievement gap for all girls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-3 years in an administrative role, preferably in an education facility
  • Considerable knowledge of data management, ideally including Infinite Campus
  • Digital fluency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Suite
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with the public in a professional manner
  • Is a self-starter; the ideal candidate will be innovative in their approach to meeting personal and department goals
  • Physical ability (able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job
  • Possession of a valid TB test issued by the local county board of health or recognized medical authority is required for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all visitors, providing a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Act as the school's language interpreter or coordinate interpreter services.
  • Monitor the Ident-A-Kid check-in system.
  • Present and explain GLOW’s mission, philosophy, admissions policy, and enrollment procedures.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, determine caller needs, and refer them to the appropriate staff.
  • Distribute messages to staff and respond appropriately to incoming information and communication.
  • Act as a role model of GLOW Academy’s social curriculum.
  • Support the admissions and enrollment of new students and families.
  • Manage all student records, ensuring information is correct and up-to-date.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all student information.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for ordering, receiving, and distributing supplies.
  • Ensure all daily transportation changes are properly received, communicated, and executed.
  • Check in substitutes and ensure they are in the correct classroom.
  • Serve as back-up for the School Nurse, administering first-aid and medications, and maintaining medication logs.
  • Attend school-wide events as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Principal or designee.
  • Sign and commit to GLOW Academy’s professional conduct policy and confidentiality agreement.
