About The Position

The School of Social Work at Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track professional faculty position. This role is integral to assisting individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life, aligning with BYU's mission, which is founded, supported, and guided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Requirements

  • MSW degree (must be completed by the start date).
  • 2 years of post-MSW practice experience in Social Work.
  • Online application completion.

  • Successful candidate must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
  • Commitment to the Mission of Brigham Young University and the Aims of a BYU Education.
  • For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • All faculty are required to abide by the university’s Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.

  • Prior teaching experience, including the ability to teach graduate-level clinical courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach an estimated 4 courses in the fall term, 4 courses in the winter term, and 2 courses in either the spring or summer term.
  • Demonstrate potential for high-quality teaching.
  • Commit to providing students with a sound academic experience.
  • Support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university.
  • Live a life of loyalty to Jesus Christ and His restored Church and align with doctrine and teachings declared by living prophets, seers, and revelators (for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
  • Demonstrate intentionality in building faith in Jesus Christ and testimony of His restored gospel among students and others in the BYU community.
  • Teach subject matter with the Spirit of God and strive to keep it “bathed in the light and color of the restored gospel” (for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
  • Describe understanding of and commitment to the Mission of Brigham Young University and the AIMS of a BYU Education (for non-members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
  • Abide by the university’s Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrine of the affiliated church.
