About The Position

The Social Work Department in the Ric Edelman College of Communication, Humanities and Social Sciences at Rowan University is seeking applicants qualified to teach Bachelor's level and Master's level generalist courses (e.g., practice, policy, research and clinical/ mental health courses) as well as courses related to our specialization in Mental Health, Equity, and Well-being. Depending upon scheduling needs, adjunct faculty may teach up to two courses per semester. Current needs for Fall '26 include BSW Introduction to Social Work on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am-12:15pm, and MSW Research Methods with sections at 3:30pm-4:45pm, 5pm-6:15pm, and 6:30pm-7:45pm. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • MSW required
  • Two years of practice experience required
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • DSW/ PhD in Social Work or related discipline
  • College-level-teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Teach Bachelor's level and Master's level generalist courses (e.g., practice, policy, research and clinical/ mental health courses)
  • Teach courses related to the specialization in Mental Health, Equity, and Well-being
  • Teach up to two courses per semester, depending on scheduling needs

Benefits

  • Minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught
  • Maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year
