Concordia College seeks a full-time faculty member for its graduate and baccalaureate social work programs. The appointment is tenure eligible for candidates with a master’s degree in social work and a doctoral degree in social work or a related field, or significant progress toward the doctorate. A professionally prepared continuing position will also be considered for candidates with a master’s degree in social work. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is expected to begin in August 2027. The faculty member will teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs, advise and support students, contribute service to the College and community, and engage in scholarly activities that promote professional growth and development. The undergraduate program is primarily in person during daytime hours; the online graduate program includes some evening hours. Candidates should be able to teach across the social work curriculum. Specialization in substance use and addiction counseling, sports and performance, or aging services is preferred. Concordia’s social work program has offered a bachelor’s degree for more than 50 years and is in its second year of offering a Master of Social Work degree with a clinical mental health concentration. The successful candidate will help shape and build the graduate program. The program emphasizes evidence-based and culturally responsive practice, social justice, and individual and community well-being. The College encourages applicants who will contribute diverse perspectives and help develop an increasingly diverse campus community.
