The College of Social Work seeks to appoint an emeritus faculty member to provide subject-matter expertise and curriculum development support for revising SW 7611: Integrative Seminar on Health and Aging. The graduate-level course will be updated to focus only on health, reflect current scholarship and evidence-informed social work practice, and address contemporary health issues. The revision is intended to support a future health specialization in the MSW program. The appointee will develop a revised syllabus and 14 weeks of online instructional content for delivery through Canvas. Course materials will include organized learning activities, current scholarly readings and other instructional resources, graduate-level assignments aligned with course objectives, grading rubrics for major assignments, and integration of contemporary health-related issues, research, policy, and social work practice. The appointee will coordinate with designated College personnel to ensure alignment with CSWE curricular and CSW online-learning expectations. The completed course should provide a rigorous, engaging, and cohesive learning experience integrating social work knowledge, values, policy, research, and practice in the context of health. This is a remote-work, fixed-term position expected to end on or before June 30, 2027, with 10 scheduled hours and a first shift. The position is for an Ohio State College of Social Work Professor Emeritus who is approved for rehire as a retiree. The university will not sponsor work visas.
