About The Position

This is a permanent full-time CFS position in the School of Communications. Teaching assignments will be in undergraduate disciplinary classes primarily in the Creative Advertising sequence, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and school needs. The School of Communications seeks applicants with demonstrated experience in and/or commitment to teaching and creative works. The position involves teaching 8 to 9 classes per academic year in the creative advertising sequence and potentially core courses within the School of Communications. The successful candidate will also assist the AdLab Faculty Director and AdLab manager to mentor client projects, student portfolios, and other student-centered initiatives. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to creative advertising sequence vision and planning, curriculum development, and assist with sequence efforts to coordinate with industry associations, agency recruiting, and client relationships. The role also includes fulfilling school, college, and university assignments.

Requirements

  • A terminal degree in advertising/communications or a related field (must be completed by the start date).
  • Experience working as a copywriter, art director, or content creator in a creative department of an ad agency or in-house creative department.
  • Experience as a creative director leading other creative teams and providing direction and feedback.
  • Demonstrated experience in and/or commitment to teaching and creative works.
  • Ability to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend (if a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
  • Abide by the university’s Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrine of the affiliated church (if a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
