About The Position

This is a professional faculty position within the School of Communications, focusing on Creative Advertising. The role involves teaching, mentoring students, curriculum development, and contributing to the overall vision and planning of the creative advertising sequence. Requirements

  • A terminal degree in advertising/communications or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with an under-graduate and/or graduate degree in advertising/communications and a minimum of 8-10 years substantial professional experience may be considered.
  • Experience working as a copywriter, art director, or content creator in a creative department of an ad agency or in-house creative department.
  • Experience as a creative director leading other creative teams and providing direction and feedback.
  • Ability to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrine of the affiliated church.
  • Must abide by the university’s Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching 8 to 9 classes per academic year in the creative advertising sequence and potentially core courses within the School of Communications.
  • Assisting the AdLab Faculty Director and AdLab manager to mentor client projects, student portfolios, and other student-centered initiatives.
  • Contributing to creative advertising sequence vision and planning, and curriculum development.
  • Assisting with sequence efforts to coordinate with industry associations, agency recruiting, and client relationships.
  • Fulfilling school, college, and university assignments.
