About The Position

The School Night Janitor cleans and sanitizes school facilities according to each building’s cleaning specifications. The role includes daily cleaning of classrooms and shared areas, maintaining restrooms and supplies, and responding to spills. The janitor is also expected to interact politely and helpfully with people at the school, provide timely customer service support, and route requests to a supervisor when needed. This is a part-time position with a fixed Monday–Friday schedule for 20 hours per week.

Requirements

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• A smartphone with email, data, and GPS location available.

Responsibilities

• Clean common areas, including the lobby, reception area, elevators, and stairwells.
• Empty trash cans, replace liners, and clean receptacles as needed.
• Sweep and mop hard floors in classrooms, the school clinic, and common areas daily.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock supplies.
• Dust horizontal and vertical surfaces.
• Clean up spills on floors and carpets as necessary; blood spills are to be handled only by trained personnel.
• Greet people working in the school politely, respectfully, and helpfully to support positive relationships.
• Screen and route requests to a supervisor when necessary, and provide timely and accurate customer service support.
• Perform other duties as requested or required by management.
