About The Position

The School Night Janitor cleans and sanitizes school facilities according to each building’s cleaning specifications. The role includes cleaning classrooms, restrooms, common areas, and other school spaces, and providing polite and helpful service to people working in the school. The position is part-time, Monday through Friday, with a fixed schedule of 20 hours per week.

Requirements

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• A smart cell phone with email, data, and GPS location available.

Responsibilities

• Clean lobbies, reception areas, elevators, stairwells, and other common areas.
• Sweep and mop classrooms, hallways, common areas, the school clinic, and other hard-floor surfaces daily.
• Empty trash cans, replace liners, and clean receptacles as needed.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock supplies.
• Dust horizontal and vertical surfaces.
• Clean up spills on floors and carpets, excluding blood spills unless trained to handle them.
• Greet people working in the school politely and respectfully to support positive relationships.
• Screen and route requests to a supervisor when necessary, and provide timely, accurate customer service support.
• Perform other duties as requested or required by management.
