About The Position

The Janitor maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment throughout an aluminum extrusion manufacturing facility. The role performs routine cleaning in production areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, warehouses, shipping and receiving areas, and other parts of the facility, while following company safety procedures and housekeeping standards. The position uses cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely, maintains janitorial supplies, reports hazards and maintenance issues, and assists with periodic deep-cleaning and facility maintenance tasks.

This position is available on 2nd shift, from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Candidates must be able to lift 75 pounds or more consistently and work in a non-air-conditioned and non-heated environment. Paid vacation, paid holidays, and a full benefits package are offered after 90 days of employment.

Requirements

• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, warehouse, or manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning supplies and equipment as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical cleaning activities for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds or more on a consistent basis.
• Must be able to work in a non-air-conditioned and non-heated work environment.
• Must be flexible to work shift hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain production floors, walkways, work areas, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors as required.
• Remove aluminum chips, scrap, dust, dirt, and general debris from designated areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of materials according to company procedures.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other employee areas.
• Clean windows, doors, walls, fixtures, tables, and other surfaces as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness around extrusion presses, saw areas, packaging areas, and other production equipment without interfering with machine operation or entering restricted areas.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining warehouse and shipping and receiving areas.
• Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools safely and according to instructions.
• Operate floor scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers, and other janitorial equipment when trained and authorized.
• Report spills, leaks, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow company safety policies, including PPE requirements and hazardous-material handling procedures.
• Keep janitorial supplies stocked and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.
• Maintain a clean and organized janitorial supply area.
• Assist with periodic deep-cleaning projects and facility maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
