About The Position

ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K–12 school, college, or university campus. No experience or degree is required, and on-the-job training is provided. The role is part-time and pays $20.45 per hour; the specific offer may vary based on experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market data. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This is described as a suitable opportunity for someone entering or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

Nice To Haves

Prior customer service experience.
One year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Notify the lead cleaner or manager when minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems are needed.
Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into the proper receptacles.
Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
Polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel.
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, manually or using hand trucks.
Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, and perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Clean and polish restrooms as needed.
Comply with company, client, and regulatory safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures.
