About The Position

ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced School Custodial Cleaner to perform general cleaning duties in assigned areas at a K–12 school, college, or university campus. The role is suitable for people entering or returning to the workforce; no prior experience or formal education is required, and on-the-job training is provided. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No prior experience required; on-the-job training is provided.
• No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior customer service experience.
• One year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
• Sweep floors, remove debris, clean spills, and mop designated areas.
• Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
• Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to avoid damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify the lead cleaner or manager when minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems are needed.
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
• Collect, consolidate, and sort recyclable materials into the proper receptacles.
• Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls; polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, manually or with hand trucks.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, and perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
• Clean and polish restrooms as needed.
• Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
