School Behavioral Technician Trainee, Behavioral Health

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated individuals who either hold a Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) credential or are interested in obtaining one. The RBT® credential, offered through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®), is required for professionals providing ABA and insurance-based services in Hawaii. In this role, you will provide one-on-one support to children and young adults with Autism in Hawaii Island school districts. BAYADA offers comprehensive training, ongoing supervision, and support to help you succeed in your career.
Requirements
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT ) Certified or the desire to pursue certification (Training provided by BAYADA)
- Be at least 18 years of age
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR passage of the ParaPro Praxis Assessment (BAYADA assistance available)
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams. Respect the values, thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes of clients and families
- Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment
- Document interventions and progress towards goals
- Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan
- Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals
- Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine
- Supports school age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
